Basic Scholarship Information
Information about a number of scholarships is sent to Meigs High School each year by the sponsoring organizations. In an attempt to inform students and parents about these scholarships, this page is updated throughout the year. Please check this page periodically and listen to the morning and afternoon announcements for more scholarship information and updates.
Scholarships listed are for current seniors unless otherwise noted. This page is not a complete list of all available scholarships. Scholarships other than those listed here may also be available. It is wise to check all resources.
Please be aware of scholarship scams! Don’t be cheated out of your money by someone promising too-good-to-be-true offers of financial aid! If you are unsure of the legitimacy of a scholarship, you can call 1-800-876-7060 for a free check from the National Fraud Information Center or contact the guidance office for more information. Below are safe scholarship search websites that we recommend.
Fastweb – Search for scholarships with this free matching service spanning more than 1.5 million scholarships. That’s $3.4 billion dollars in funding available to all students. Students simply create a profile and answer questions about themselves. Then Fastweb will send scholarships that match the students’ profile to their inbox.
Raise.Me – Students can earn micro-scholarships from colleges for their achievements as early as 9th grade. Once a student creates a profile, they add their achievements such as course grades, clubs, sports, volunteer activities, and etc. For each achievement entered, students will earn scholarships from colleges, which will be awarded when the student attends that college. The website also allows students to follow colleges they want to learn more about and find which ones are the best fit.
College Board Scholarship Search – Find scholarships, other financial aid and internships from more than 2,200 programs, totaling nearly $6 billion. Enter as much information as possible to find the most matches. Scholarship information is updated annually based on the College Board’s Survey of Financial Aid Programs.
